Why
Born out of a love for theater begun when our founder started learning it in a high school classroom 4 in building J in the fall of 1993. Their love for theater grew and was nourished through experiences working for local theater, production and rental companies, and earning several degrees.
Dispersed among the theaters and entertainment companies they worked at were a diverse selection of food service and retail companies each lead by differentiated management styles.
When J-4 Design was founded in the late summer of 2019, it was created around the mission “We Give a Damn”. This mission looks back at the companies and jobs the founder worked, drawing on their experiences both good and bad. From this exploration they decided that “Give a Damn” would mean J-4 Design would be the type of company they always wanted to work for by bringing every good experience together under one roof.
For J-4 Design’s clients, “Give a Damn” would come to transcend ‘care’ to exemplify the understanding of what “us in their shoes” really means. We know because we have been there, we get frustrated for you because we have been you, we want to do right because it’s right, we look at all options because you look at all options, and we want a relationship with each client because you want a place that you trust enough to stop in and feel you’re at home.
In short, We Give a Damn because that’s who we are not because those are words on a page.
